Introduction
TechStyle is UBC BizTech's first conference celebrating the major breakthroughs in the fashion industry. From exploring the influence of technology, to inspiring others with confidence, the event aims to create a welcoming space for fashion enthusiasts and students hoping to pursue a career in the industry.
As this event's design director, I led the creative direction, graphic design, and overall visual identity, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand and visual experience that attracted both tech and fashion enthusiasts.

Impact
TechStyle introduced a fresh new identity to BizTech’s event lineup by blending fashion, technology, and community in a new way never seen on campus. My graphic design work helped establish a distinct visual direction that set the tone for a more inclusive and expressive experience, attracting a new audience beyond traditional tech circles. The event’s strong turnout and enthusiastic participation in workshops and vendor booths reflected successful community engagement. It also reinforced BizTech’s mission by expanding its reach through creative, boundary-pushing initiatives that felt both fresh and welcoming.

Reflection
I saw firsthand how visual design sets the tone, not just for how something looks, but for who feels invited to participate. By crafting a bold, expressive identity, we were able to reach beyond traditional tech circles and create a space that felt fresh, inclusive, and community-driven. Most importantly, this project reminded me that memorable experiences often come from taking creative risks and challenging what’s been done before. TechStyle wrapped with a strong finish: 50+ attendees, 12 attending companies, 20 sponsors, and 3 keynote speakers and workshop hosts.
